How do you get an A in punctuality but a D in reliability? 🤔

So he was an unreliable, ugly kid with poor conduct?

At least he can be relied upon to show up on time in a disheveled state.

Well I mean washing your face and brushing your teeth and brushing your hair actually are big deal to learn when you are in primary school.

I’m not even a teacher… just a clinical instructor, at my hospital job, for people doing clinicals through the local tech school –
I am asked to check off a student’s appearance…
Which seems ridiculous until you meet the 27+ yo adults trying to make generic surgical scrubs into TikTok video booty bait and asking their instructor if they can borrow some concealer to cover up their hickies

Pretty standard for any school with a uniform.

We used to be marked on the state of our school uniform in the UK, so not that dissimilar i guess

We used to get detention for:
* hair touching our collar
* fringe less than 2 fingers from eyebrows
* hands in pockets
* non-shined shoes
* buttons missing
* blazer not buttoned
* blazer too buttoned
* tie missing
* name tag missing
* name tag damaged
* top shirt button undone
* non-matching socks
* no belt
* too flashy belt buckle
And thats just the appearance transgressions.

Oh, I have had it, I have had it with this school, Skinner. The low test scores, class after class of ugly, ugly children.

My school did this. I always got marks deducted bc my socks always got dirty during recess and I liked to untuck my shirt out of my skirt. Some of it was just based on ignorance though. All of us w curly hair often got told our hair was not presentable.

We did it over here as well but it’s not your face or body or anything: it’s how well presented your uniform/school clothes are, and if they’re clean and that. We used to have ties and dress shirts and all that

Only if they didn’t scored A in Regularity & Punctuality, then maybe their grades in Personal appearance & conduct would be better!

This doesn’t seem that unusual to be honest, it’s just how well the student complies with school grooming standards.

Hopefully the personal appearance is about tidy clothes, grooming etc.

1997. Arizona. I was 9 years old. Leaving the cafeteria after lunch and I spit on the sidewalk. And I got what my schools called a red card. I was devastated. The lunch monitor or whatever she was called, called the cops on me at school. She was insane. But I was breaking the law. Life of crime is tough when you start so young
